Published on December 6, 2024

Excited about Huntsville’s thriving music scene? Make plans to join the Huntsville Music Office’s Quarterly Music Meetup on Tuesday, Dec. 10, to find out what’s happening.

The free event will take place from 6-8 p.m. at The Camp in the MidCity District, with concessions available for purchase. It’s the perfect opportunity to network with local talent, stakeholders and industry professionals, including members of the Huntsville Music Board and Music Officer Matt Mandrella.

Mandrella said the Meetup will include a review of 2024’s milestones and a glimpse into what’s to come. Key highlights include an exciting lineup of internationally renowned artists at The Orion, the Von Braun Center and the South Star Music Festival. Although the second day of South Star was canceled due to inclement weather, Mandrella emphasized the event’s success.

“We achieved the goal of introducing a new world-class festival experience to Huntsville with a lineup packed full of major talent,” Mandrella said. “Our partnership with C3 Presents has been invaluable, and we’re very excited about the future of this event.”

The Huntsville Music Office has also been hard at work expanding local artists’ reach. In September, the Rocket City Ramble sent six groups to Nashville to perform at ACME Feed & Seed as part of AMERICANAFEST, and in November, Huntsville artists performed at Universal Music Group’s East Iris Studios space in Nashville.

This year’s accomplishments also include a successful Huntsville Music Month, which featured the second annual Launchpad Music Festival and continued celebrations for Women in Music Week.

Looking ahead, Mandrella believes 2025 will be another landmark year for Huntsville’s music scene. He encourages the community to attend the Quarterly Meetup to learn more about the exciting developments on the horizon.

“We’ve made tremendous strides this year on our path to becoming an international music destination,” Mandrella said. “This progress is thanks to the talented artists, the behind-the-scenes teams, the local venues and most importantly the dedicated fans who support the arts. There’s been a lot of excitement in the air all year, and we’re ready to keep that momentum going in 2025.”
