Huntsville Animal Services is teaming up with the Skating in the Park, a program of the Huntsville Museum of Art, to promote animal adoptions.

On Saturday, December 30, from 10 a.m. until noon, Huntsville dogs looking for forever homes will be rinkside in Big Spring Park, watching skaters for their potential as future best friends.

Since ice skates don’t safely fit pet paws, no dogs will be allowed on the ice, however, skaters may meet and visit with adoptable dogs at their leisure at the Huntsville Animal Services tent. Volunteers will also be on hand to showcase the adoptable dogs and explain their personalities and habits.

Those who can’t adopt but are interested in supporting Huntsville Animal Services can do so through volunteering, fostering or donating pet toys and supplies.

The Huntsville Animal Shelter is located at 4950 Triana Boulevard and is open Monday through Saturday for adoptions. Our hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 256-883-3783, visit HuntsvilleAL.gov/Animal or check us out on Facebook.
