Registration for Huntsville Parks & Recreation’s After-School Programs opens Monday, June 29, at 8 a.m. through Parks & Recreation’s online registration platform.
The popular programs are offered Monday-Friday from 2:30-6 p.m. at select community and recreation centers throughout the academic year for students in grades 1-6.
Parks & Recreation’s After-School Programs offer positive activities within a safe, secure and enriching environment. The programs include educational and recreation activities geared to the interests of participants as well as homework time, arts and crafts, sports, games, special events and group activities.
The programs coincide with the Huntsville City Schools academic calendar. The cost for the program is $20 per child and $10 per sibling per week.
“Our After-School Program provides children with a safe, supportive place to learn and play after the school day ends,” said Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “Whether they’re completing homework, participating in recreational activities or building friendships, students benefit from an environment that encourages personal development and fun.”
