Huntsville City Council certifies municipal election results, declares runoff races

The Huntsville City Council canvassed and certified the results of the Aug. 23, municipal election and declared the following candidates elected for a term to begin Nov. 7:

  • Bill Kling – District 4 City Council Member
  • Ryan Renaud – District 4 Board of Education Member
  • Holly McCarty – District 2 Board of Education Member

In a separate action, having opened and counted provisional ballots with City Clerk-Treasurer Ken Benion, the Council declared a runoff election for District 2 City Council and District 3 Board of Education. Voters will choose between District 2 City Council candidates David Little and Bill Yell and District 3 Board of Education candidates Andrea Alvarez and Angela McClure on Sept. 20.
