Published on February 16, 2021

HUNTSVILLE, AL – City of Huntsville municipal offices, including Municipal Court, will be closed today due inclement winter weather. Offices will reopen Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 8 a.m.

Notices will be sent to the public via the City Alerts system, local media, and City of Huntsville social media.

Transit

Orbit routes are operating at Saturday-level service, so buses will run just once an hour as opposed to every 30 minutes. Service will also end at 7 p.m., instead of the usual 9 p.m. Updates are posted HERE.

Sanitation

Garbage service is on weather delay. Residential pick-up will be delayed by at least 1-2 service days all week. Please leave your green garbage carts curbside until Sanitation can pick them up.

RANA curbside recycling collections for this week are delayed. Crews will resume collections as soon as possible and will continue throughout the weekend to complete all daily routes. To ensure collection, place and leave carts out until emptied. Some areas could experience further delays, depending on road conditions.

View the City Garbage Collection page for updates on service collection.

Warming shelter

The Max Luther Center will remain open as a Community Warming Center until 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 17. Church of the Nativity and First Stop are coordinating operations.

Municipal Court

The court is closed today. Arraignments scheduled for today will move to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17.
