City Council Member Michelle Watkins is encouraging residents to come together in support of peace, healing and community at the “Voices of Change: Rise Up Against Violence” event.

The forum is Saturday, April 4, from 9-11 a.m. at the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama, 3911 Pulaski Pike NW.

The gathering is designed to raise awareness about gun violence, honor victims and provide a space for families and community members to connect and take action. Residents across Huntsville are invited to participate in this meaningful event.

“Events like ‘Voices of Change’ remind us of the power of community,” Watkins said. “By coming together, we can uplift one another, honor those impacted by violence and reaffirm our commitment to building a safer, stronger Huntsville.”

The program will include speakers and opportunities to connect with local advocates working to reduce violence and support affected families.

Watkins emphasized that addressing violence requires a united effort.

“Creating lasting change takes all of us,” she said. “This event is an opportunity to listen, support and stand together as we work toward safer neighborhoods and a brighter future for our city.”

Residents are encouraged to visit the District 1 Facebook page for additional details and updates about the event.
