Start your day with a splash of color at Parks & Recreation’s Color Jam Family Run & Walk on Saturday, July 11, from 9-11 a.m. at John Hunt Park.
The free, untimed event for all ages welcomes participants to enjoy a colorful experience as they run, walk and make memories with family and friends.
Runners and walkers will travel the paved course near the John Hunt Park Festival Grounds and be playfully showered with multi-hued powders. The event also features giveaways, music from the DJ and concessions available for purchase. After the fun, attendees can cool down at the fire truck rinse-off station, courtesy of Huntsville Fire & Rescue.
“Color Jam is quickly becoming a community favorite for Parks & Recreation Month,” said Huntsville Parks & Recreation Director James Gossett. “The event gives kids and adults a chance to let loose, embrace the color and have a blast. We always see plenty of smiling faces and can’t wait to bring the community together for another colorful celebration this year.”
Participants are encouraged to wear white with neon accessories to enhance their experience. They should also wear comfortable shoes and clothes suitable for liquids and powders.
Online registration is available. On-site registration and check-ins begin at 8 a.m. and the run starts at 9 a.m.
