Huntsville Police have arrested Bryant Davis, 23, for murder following an incident in a parking lot of a business located at 4896 University Drive on Friday, March 5th.

Officers responded to the business around 10:20 p.m. after dispatch received 9-1-1 calls about a cutting.

An Officer leaving an extra-duty job in the area quickly responded and located Joshua Bankston, 39, in the parking lot of the business with multiple injuries.

HEMSI responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene due to his injuries.

Davis was located near the victim, and he was taken to the Criminal Investigations Division for questioning about events that led up to Bankston’s death. Investigators believe the two men were in a verbal dispute that turned into a physical alteration ultimately leading to Bankston’s death. Investigators learned the offender and victim were acquaintances.

Davis was taken to Madison County Jail and charged with 1st degree murder.
