Huntsville Police is in its fourth year of maintaining a drug depository in the Public Safety Complex at 815 Wheeler Ave for unwanted and unused drugs. It has taken in approximately 3,500 lbs of prescription drugs since it was installed in 2016 (360 lbs for this past reporting quarter in 2018). That’s 3,500 lbs. of prescription drugs that won’t find their way into the wrong hands or our water system. If you have unwanted or expired prescription drugs that need to be discarded, this location remains available 24/7 and the lobby desk is staffed by HPD Officers.
We also want to remind everyone of the Spring DEA Drug Take Back Event April 27th, 2019 from 10am -2pm at the Kroger on US HWY 72 West.
