The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) promoted six officers during a ceremony at City Hall, recognizing their advancement into new investigative and supervisory roles.
Family members, colleagues and city leaders attended as HPD Chief Kirk Giles highlighted the significance of the promotions, noting they represent both achievement and trust earned through years of service, professionalism and commitment to public safety.
“Promotions are important milestones,” Giles said. “They reflect hard work, sacrifice and a willingness to take on greater responsibility.”
Mayor Tommy Battle also addressed attendees, emphasizing that leadership within HPD plays a critical role as Huntsville continues to grow and face new public safety demands.
“The officers standing before us have shown they are ready to meet those challenges and help lead this department into the future,” Battle said.
The promoted officers include Investigators Tyler Edwards, Krista McCabe and Byron Nalls, and Sergeants Britton Allen, Iain Fabec and Gabriel Harrell. Each was formally recognized on stage during the badge presentation ceremony, with loved ones participating in traditional pinning.
Chief Giles closed by reminding the officers that their new ranks bring higher expectations and ongoing responsibility.
“Trust is earned,” Giles said. “The work that got you here matters, but the work ahead matters even more.”
HPD extends its congratulations to all honorees and thanks them for their ongoing service to the residents of Huntsville.
