Male Mentorship registration opening soon

Huntsville Parks & Recreation’s popular Male Mentorship Program will soon open for registration. The program also offers opportunities for dedicated and compassionate mentors to join the team.
Scheduled throughout the 2026-2027 school year, the Male Mentorship Program empowers young men ages 8-15 to grow into confident, positive individuals. Through engaging activities, supportive mentors and inspirational speakers, participants gain essential life skills and build meaningful connections in a safe, encouraging environment.
Registration opens on Parks & Recreation’s registration platform at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 13. Due to limited space, interested participants are encouraged to register promptly. The registration fee is $25 per child.
In addition to participants, the program is seeking to expand its roster of male mentors who are passionate about making a positive impact in the community. All prospective mentors will undergo a thorough background check to ensure the safety and well-being of program participants.
“The Male Mentorship Program helps young people build confidence, character and life skills,” said Superintendent of Recreation for Community Services Dorianne Johnson. “By connecting participants with positive role models and meaningful experiences, we’re helping prepare the next generation for success.”
