Mayor Battle Statement on NASA Marshall’s Leading Role in America’s Return to the Moon

In front of the hydrogen fuel tank for the Space Launch System, America’s next rocket, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine announced today that Marshall Space Flight Center and Huntsville, Alabama will play a leadership role in Project Artemis, NASA’s lunar exploration program that aims to land the first woman and the next man on the moon by 2024.
Following Administrator Bridenstine’s announcement, Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle has issued the following statement:
“Today, we are proud to hear Huntsville’s Marshall Space Flight Center has been selected as the project manager in the development of the lander for the Artemis lunar exploration program,” Battle said. “Thank you to NASA Administrator Bridenstine for the vote of confidence in Huntsville and North Alabama’s exceptional workforce.
