Residents and visitors heading to Five Points this weekend should plan ahead as the annual PorchFest celebration returns on Saturday, May 2, bringing temporary road closures and increased pedestrian traffic to the area.

To support the event, the Huntsville Police Department (HPD) will close Pratt Avenue from Russell Street to Maysville Road beginning at noon.

All streets intersecting Pratt Avenue within that stretch will also be closed and will not have access to Pratt Avenue, including:

  • Coleman Street
  • England Street
  • Lacy Street
  • Minor Street
  • Grayson Street
  • Windham Street
  • Goldsmith Street

PorchFest festivities begin at 2 p.m. and end at 9 p.m., with all roadways expected to reopen around 10 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and should expect heavier-than-normal vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout the Five Points area during the event.
