Vincent Rutherford Parade to bring road closures to downtown Huntsville

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) will implement temporary road closures in downtown Huntsville on Sunday, June 7, to accommodate the Vincent Rutherford Parade.
Road closures along the parade route will begin at 2 p.m. and are expected to remain in effect until around 4:30 p.m.
The parade will begin on Holmes Avenue near Woodson Street and travel east to Jefferson Street. Participants will continue south on Jefferson Street, west on Williams Avenue, north on Church Street and west on Clinton Avenue before concluding near Woodson Street.
Drivers traveling through downtown Huntsville should expect temporary road closures, traffic delays and increased pedestrian activity throughout the event area.
HPD officers will be stationed along the route to assist with traffic control and ensure the safety of parade participants and spectators.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and use caution while traveling near the parade route. Please watch for pedestrians, officers and traffic control devices.
