The Huntsville Police Department has arrested 33 year old David Thompson.  The arrest stems from an incident on October 18 where he entered St. Luke Baptist Church with a baseball bat and damaged several items.

Officers responded to the church on Sparkman Drive around 8:00 a.m. yesterday for a call of a man in the building with a bat.  When officers arrived they discovered several items including a window had been broken.  Witnesses stated that Thompson walked in with a bat while parents were dropping off children for daycare.  He struck several items with the bat before leaving the area on foot.  No one was injured during the incident.

Today officers responded to a call of a suspicious person in the area of Jordan Lane and Mastin Lake Road.  The suspect matched the description of Thompson, and when officers arrived he ran on foot.  The officers established a perimeter and after a short time were able to locate Mr. Thompson and take him into custody without incident.  He was charged with Terrorist Threat, Burglary, and Criminal Mischief in relation to the incident at St. Luke Baptist Church.
